The duration of this trek is usually two days, one night, including camping at the top, but this can also be complete in 1 day without camping. To get to Triund, a person needs to move from Dharamshala to Mcleodganj, where the trek starts. The best time to trek here is from March to December.

Visiting in June July is not advisable due to heavy rains. January and February experience heavy snowfall; hence should be avoided. Carrying a lighter back is advised as one should have only a small amount of snacks and not take a heavy load as there are two cafes on the trail.
